Most of my friends know (and hear) from me often regarding my disdain for the media who, in my opinion, spins facts to make stories. This is taken to another level being that I read NY papers, each of which compete against each other and fight for the best rumor filled articles. A little over a week ago I wrote a post after the Jets beat the Dolphins on Monday Night Football. One of my critiques was how the MNF announcers spent so much time discussing the Miami coach and apparent rumors that he was looking to leave the team to coach college football. This discussion occurred despite Coach Sabans constant denial that he was not going to leave the Dolphins. Well, Saban has now given the media a reason to continue to be obnoxious as he decided to leave the Dolphins today to take a job coaching the University of Alabama football team. Although I will continue to call out the media when they can’t seem to do their job right, I’ve definitely lost this case regarding what I thought to be the media making a story where there wasn’t one to be had.
