For those of you not keeping up, I’m in the process of moving to Los Angeles, specifically Marina Del Rey.  It’s something I’ve thought about for at least a year and, after having a couple of job opportunities fall through here in Denver, I decided now is the best time to make the move. With my brother buying his flight to Denver to help out a few days ago, I can now say I will be out of Denver on August 11th.  There are a lot of logistics that need to be taken care of prior to the move.  My parents helped out while here by cleaning, packing, and fixing a few minor things in the house… I helped too!  I contracted out to a property management company to rent my house, which has already been done. The tenants will move in on August 14th.  Earlier today I took 2 big garbage bags of stuff over to Goodwill.  Some of the stuff I gave to Goodwill I barely used since moving into my house, somehow I built up a large collection of blankets.  Then there was other stuff I just didn’t need in LA (i.e., sweaters).  A TV stand and dresser found their way to the garbage.  There was no way to get the dresser down the stairs without taking it apart.  And, since I have a second older dresser that is easier to move, I decided it wasn’t worth taking apart just to put it back together.  I’ve sold my winter tires, couch, and dining room table.  I’m still debating on selling the spare bed, but it might get some use if my brother and I get a 3 bedroom apartment in LA.  Everything else will be moved to LA and put into storage until further notice.  The one thing that surprised me while packing is how much stuff I have.  And I actually do a good job of getting rid of things.
My next task is to get a moving truck, of which I have a few options and am still debating. Â The part that makes it difficult is whether to pull the Jeep with the moving truck or to have my brother drive the Jeep separately.
On a side note. Â Before moving to Denver, I good friend – comments as “ME” on this blog – gave me some mugs with the Captain Morgan logo on them. Â These mugs got some use over the years and the logo has worn out. Â As a result, they will not make it to LA. Â Well, maybe 1 will make the trip. Â But I wanted to say thank you to “ME” for the mugs. Â I really did like them.

sniff, sniff-I think I am going to cry. In light of this most poignant blog post, I feel I must let you know that I still have the ‘Mom’s Rules’ wall hanging you gave me after Aidan was born. It hangs in my kitchen as I type…
Good luck with your move my friend.
Mom’s Rules was given to you out of guilt. It’s the least I could do for having my cell phone turned off when you went into labor and had to drive to the hospital on your own.
HA! Must be a guy thing. Just ask the man how much crap he got for having HIS cell phone turned off…..
Konstantine did not leave anything for me when he left Long Island. Just stories of Greece and the Parking Lot….
Well, after being denied entry into the MFL multiple times, I decided you weren’t worthy.
