As noted a few days ago, a new theme was added to the most recent version of WordPress, named Twenty Ten. This theme is now running here at poulios.com. My original hesitation on using the theme was I hadn’t figured out how to remove post titles from posts using the “status” category. Turns out the functionality was included in the theme, just with a different category named “asides.” A quick name change of the “status” category to “asides” and voila. There are a few things that still need to be cleaned up with the theme, but will play with it here and there until I figure it out. Next on my list is to figure out why posts have different font sizes.
Fixed! Next on the list is to figure out a way to differentiate posts. There doesn’t seem to be a good/obvious separation, specifically when using the “asides” category, which doesn’t show the post title.
Ok, added a line to separate posts and shaded quotes. Still some adjustments to be done there, but it’s a start.
I was not a fan of the new theme at first, but it looks like you are working out some of the kinks… getting better!
To tell you the truth, I’m still not a big fan. Thinking of going back to the theme I used before P2, which was Seashore. I’ll give it a few more days of tinkering before making a decision. Have any ideas on how I can make it cleaner/better?
so a very minor item… (quite picky to be honest, but you asked!)…. the different fonts between the post title (looks like Arial?) and the actual post and comments (looks likt Times New Roman??) is a distraction to me. I can certainly read it and enjoy the commentary, but in my warped audit mind, all I see is the different fonts, and it bugs me.
Wow, picky-picky.
I’ll look into making changing the fonts to be the same over the weekend.
I prefer the Arial.
With help from a child theme named Twenty Ten Weaver I was able to adjust a bunch of color/font settings. I’m finally starting to like the new look. Now if I can only figure out a way (and find the time) to redo the photo albums so individual picture can have comments. That’s a task for another day (more like a week).
